Modular, tank-style model designed for the separation of proteins in vertical 9.4 x 8.0 cm polyacrylamide (PAGE) gels.

Eco-Mini accomodates a variety of separation techniques, including SDS-PAGE, native, preparative and gradient electrophoresis, as well as blotting applications.

The Electrophoresis Module (Gel Module) for electrophoresis accepts hand-cast gels as well as pre-cast gels in plastic cassettes. Glass plates for 10.5 cm to 11.0 cm width and up to 11.5 cm length can be used with the module. Applicable pre-cast gel sizes are 8.0 cm x 10.0 cm to 10.0 cm x 10.0 cm.

Special designed Divider-Plates are optional available. They double gel capacity up to 4 gels by converting single-gel sandwiches into two-gel club sandwiches. The two-gel sandwiches fit into the same Casting Stand and Electrophoresis Module as the single gels.

For quick and easy gel casting of 1 to 4 gels the Electrophoresis Module fits to the special designed Casting Stand. Glass plates with fixed spacers in combination with the improved visco-elastic polymeric gaskets guarantee leakproof and bubble-free gel casting.

To cast gels, load the glass plates to the Electrophoresis Module, fix them with the integrated mechanism and place the assembly into the Casting Stand. After polymerisation remove the assembly from the Casting Stand and drop into the buffer tank for the electrophoresis run.

Locator slots which are built into the buffer tank offer easy and quick sliding of the Electrophoresis Module into locked position. Applied into the buffer tank the Electrophoresis Module forms the upper/inner buffer chamber.

The buffer tanks EB and EBC are compatible with the Blot Module of the Tankblot Eco-Mini. For temperature-controlled runs the buffer tank EBC with built-in cooling base is available.
